Radio Rising Artist of the Year

Entry Specifications

Radio DJs/personalities, directors, and producers—who engage directly with the music scene and listeners on the front lines—select domestic artists who are expected to break through following the award, based on their professional insight.

Using radiko’s on-air monitoring data, artists with strong potential for breakthrough success after the award are designated as Entry Artists.

During the aggregation period, artists are first extracted from songs that ranked within the top 500 of radiko’s on-air monitoring data and that meet the Entry Works eligibility criteria. From this list, artists whose official audio or video was first released through official services—either digitally or physically—on or after January 1, 2022 are designated as Entry Artists.

Aggregation Period

First Voting Period

All Radio Special Voting Members, comprising radio DJs or personalities, directors, and producers who engage closely with both the music scene and listeners, are invited to vote.

Voters may select up to three artists from the list of artists chosen in the preliminary selection. Participation in the vote is voluntary.

Voters may also freely nominate artists not included in the preliminary selection, within the same limit of up to three artists in total. These freely nominated artists will be counted and evaluated in the same manner as artists selected through the preliminary process.

However, eligible artists must have released their official audio and or video content for the first time via public digital services or physical formats on or after January 1, 2022.

Final Voting Period

All Radio Special Voting Members, comprising radio DJs or personalities, directors, and producers who engage closely with both the music scene and listeners, will participate in the voting.

Each voter will rank up to three artists from among the Nominee Artists. Points will be allocated as follows. First place 4 points, second place 2 points, third place 1 point.

Voters may rank up to three artists and may choose to rank fewer than three.
