Entry Specifications

The top 100 songs by Music Video (MV) points on the Billboard JAPAN Hot 100 are first extracted. Based on the highest points recorded in each period, an annual original chart is compiled, and the top 10 songs from this chart are designated as part of the Entry Works.

In addition, three media outlets participating as the Music Video Special Selection Committee — SPACE SHOWER TV, MUSIC ON! TV, and MTV — jointly select 40 music videos recognized for outstanding creativity and visual expression. Together, these selections form a total of 50 Entry Works.

Aggregation Period
January 27, 2025 – February 22, 2026
(Seven periods, each consisting of eight weeks)

1st Period: January 27, 2025 – March 23, 2025
2nd Period: March 24, 2025 – May 18, 2025
3rd Period: May 19, 2025 – July 13, 2025
4th Period: July 14, 2025 – September 7, 2025
5th Period: September 8, 2025 – November 2, 2025
6th Period: November 3, 2025 – December 28, 2025
7th Period: December 29, 2025 – February 22, 2026

※Eligible songs must have been released between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.

※Only music videos for songs by domestic artists are eligible.

※Music videos created using anime footage, film footage, or AI-generated production are not eligible.

Aggregation Period

First Voting Period

Domestic Voting Members may vote on a voluntary basis.

Each member must vote for 2 to 5 entries from the list of Entry Works.

※Self-selection is permitted, but duplicate selections are not allowed.

Final Voting Period

Domestic Voting Members may vote on a voluntary basis.

Each voter will rank up to three artists from among the Nominee Artists. Points will be allocated as follows. First place 4 points, second place 2 points, third place 1 point.

※Voters may rank up to three artists and may choose to rank fewer than three.

※Self selection is permitted and duplicate selections are not allowed.
