Entry Specifications

For each period, Japanese songs are extracted from regional consumption data (Streaming, Downloads, and Music Video) compiled by Luminate and other sources for the eligible countries/regions listed below. A regional chart is then created excluding consumption within Japan, and the top 50 songs on this chart are selected.

After all seven periods have concluded, the songs extracted from each period are combined and ranked by points. Duplicate entries are removed by retaining only the highest point total for each song. The top 5 songs are designated as Nominees, and the number one ranked song overall is designated as the Award Winner.

1st Period: January 31, 2025 – March 27, 2025
2nd Period: March 28, 2025 – May 22, 2025
3rd Period: May 23, 2025 – July 17, 2025
4th Period: July 18, 2025 – September 11, 2025
5th Period: September 12, 2025 – November 6, 2025
6th Period: November 7, 2025 – January 1, 2026
7th Period: January 2, 2026 – February 26, 2026

Eligible Countries/Regions
Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Greece.

※Only songs by domestic artists are eligible.

※If multiple songs by the same artist appear among the nominees, only the highest-ranking song will be selected. In such cases, five songs by five different artists will be designated as Nominees.
