

Award category in collaboration with the Japan Dance Music & DJ Association honoring a DJ recognized for outstanding musical creativity and artistry

JDDA, a cooperating organization of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN, selects 30 DJs who have been active primarily in Japan between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. The selections are based on recommendations from member venues of the Japan Music Bar Association and clubs across Tokyo. These DJs are designated as Entry DJs.
Selected DJs are evaluated based on the following criteria:
Demonstrates originality and a distinct musical identity rooted in Japan’s unique sound culture.
Has established a distinctive style and exerts influence within the scene.
Enjoys strong support from the live venue community and leaves a strong impression on audiences.
Engages with global dance music trends while presenting a uniquely Japanese approach.
Shows strong potential for further growth and recognition through this award.
Domestic Voting Members, along with JDDA Special Voting Members selected by JDDA Japan Dance Music and DJ Association, will participate in the voting.
Domestic Voting Members may vote on an optional basis, while all JDDA Special Voting Members are required to vote.
Each member must vote for 2 to 5 DJs from among the Entry DJs.
JDDA Special Voting Members are selected by JDDA from among musicians, DJs, hip hop media representatives, writers, and other industry experts.

In addition to the Domestic Voting Members, JDDA Special Voting Members will also participate in the voting.
Voting by Domestic Voting Members is voluntary, while all JDDA Special Voting Members are required to vote.
Each voter will rank up to three DJs from among the Nominee DJs. Points will be allocated as follows: first place 4 points, second place 2 points, third place 1 point.
